My name is Marie Alessandro. I have been blogging my adventures online for over 25 years – the world is a cool place and I want to share that! My life is colored with a wide brush – a few of my experiences include being a burlesque performer (with appearances on HBO), a bartender, a medical research lab tech, and a death doula.
I am currently an Honors student of Communication with minors in both Professional Writing/New Media and Cinema, at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Currently, my focus is on the exploration of film through the UMB Cinema Studies blog with special interest in horror and cult films, providing written and visual content, analysis and reviews. I also solicit and curate guest content. Additionally, I moderate and extend the reach of the program within social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. My own interests and creative endeavors include visual art, LGBTQ+ culture, fiber art, indy filmmaking, culinary experiences and travel adventures, which are reflected in my personal social media. I am currently engaged in an indy film project with Launch Over Productions, and exploring the art of screenwriting.
